Welcome back returning KC West players!

Please note the following to help make the on-line registration process easier:

It is recommended that you use either Chrome or Firefox browser.
You will need your child’s 13-digit number Hockey Canada ID number.
Hockey Canada’s migration to their new registration system, HCR 3.0, requires users to create and link a Spordle account.
- Go to the Hockey Canada registry website.
- Create your new account
- Spordle it set up to guide you step-by-step through the process. You will see your Hockey Canada ID once you find and link your player to your account.

Brand new to hockey? These are the steps that you will need to complete in order to get registered:

Step 1

The first step for brand new hockey players is to create a Hockey Canada Account (through Spordle); you will need to contact the Registrar for help obtaining a Hockey Canada ID number. You will be notified when your Hockey Canada Account has been set-up

The following information is required to set up a player's Hockey Canada ID:

First and Last Name
Date of Birth (please forward a copy of birth certificate or Alberta Health Card to the Registrar)
Gender
Primary Language
Citizenship
Address (please forward a copy of utility bill to the Registrar)

Step 2

You will need to complete the Respect in Sport (RIS) Course. The RIS Program is an online certification program designed to ensure that hockey is fun and safe for all of our participants. You will also need to create a profile and add your child. If done correctly, you will see the same Hockey ID from your Hockey Canada account. Upon completion of the program, you will be given a certificate with a number and expiry date. This information is required for registration. The program itself takes about an hour to complete and it costs $12. You only have to do this every 4 years.

RIS# and HC# are required to process your registration.

Step 3

Our Registrar will provide you an online link to sign up for a free Team Snap account and register for hockey.

KC West Minor Hockey Association (KCW) was formed as a not-for-profit organization resulting in fundraising being essential to maintain and grow the organization. Fundraising also provides the benefits of increased awareness to our families that they are an integral part of our community. Participation in fundraisers helps to generate funds for our organization and keep registration costs down.

Players are assigned to a category based on their age as of December 31 of the season they are registering for:

* These categories participate in our Enhanced Program Package that includes additional development practice ice times, dry-land training sessions, dry-land gear, practice jersey and socks, and water bottle.

We are waiving the late registration fee for the 2022-23 season to provide continued support to our hockey families in response to the pandemic and inflation rates.

Under normal circumstances, returning player registrations (U9, U11, and U13) received after August 15, 2022 would be subject to a $100.00 late fee.

REFUND POLICY

REGISTRATION FEE COVERAGE

Registration fees are determined by Edmonton Minor Hockey and are evaluated annually and adjusted as needed. The fees include the cost of the ice time for games played throughout the season and does not include any additional ice time for practices.

All expenses associated with hockey development including ice time for practices and any other facilities used is the responsibility of KC West.

Each team has approximately 20 practices covered by KC West through fundraising events. Any additional ice time required for practices is the responsibility of the team.

Provides financial support for registration fees to children from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sports program. For further details, click here.

Provides families in financial need with a financial boost for registration and equipment costs to get kids involved in sport. Funds can also be provided for adaptive equipment to help kids with special needs. For further details, click here.
